Joseph Fiala's viola da gamba, built by Joann Paul Schorn in Salzburg in 1709, is now in the possession of viol virtuoso Thomas Fritzsch. When he found the instrument, he immediately went in search of viola da gamba music by his friends Mozart and Fiala, and not in vain.
