Guided tour: A "Rosswerk" as a mining exhibition facility
In addition to demonstrations of the Göpelfunktion, also with horses at weekends, there is a historic mountain forge where the spindle press and forge fire with anvil are presented. You can also marvel at the fairytale mountain of the carving association.

International Museum Day
The special tour of Augustusburg Castle opens up otherwise hidden rooms. Discover the Lindenhaus, Kaisersaal and the "Trompeterstuhl" with a view. Insights into the everyday life of the servants and the water supply in the 16th century round off the tour.
Through courtyards and cellars - chats with the valets
Accompanied by the valets Agnes and Luise, this is an entertaining tour into the 16th century & a journey through the castle's history. There will be anecdotes from life at court & you will enter secret corridors. Water is tasted at the fountain house.
An elector celebrates his birthday - 500 years of Augustus of Saxony
To mark his 500th birthday, Elector Augustus will personally guide visitors through his palace and provide insights into his life as a ruler, family man and lover of science. Afterwards, you can enjoy an electoral coffee feast at Café Anna.

Augustusburg Castle is launching a new, interactive experience: visitors follow Electress Anna, discover hidden recipes, decipher ancient writings and distil an elixir of life - staged with effects almost like magic.
Time travel experience
Time travel is impossible? Not at Augustusburg Castle! A "time machine" catapults visitors back to the Renaissance. Dressed in period costumes, you can experience everyday life back then and learn interesting facts about courtly etiquette.
Open Monument Day
Join us on a journey of discovery through Scharfenstein Castle: why is it enthroned on the mountain, how did people live in the Middle Ages and what changes did it undergo? The interactive tour provides answers before a snack awaits you in the Stülpner Schenke.
Behind closed doors - special guided tour
On the discovery tour up and down the stairs, visitors can finally look behind all the many doors that are otherwise closed. The tour ranges from Augustus' imperial hall to the everyday work of the servants in the farmyard and fountain house.

More than 500 years ago, the first settlers began silver mining on the edge of what is now Marienberg. We go on a journey through time in appropriate clothing. Among other things, you can experience how important light was underground and what the minerals look like under a microscope.
