It is said that wild boars foraging for food once uncovered the first tin ore in Ehrenfriedersdorf. This left its mark on the town - and so the patinated gunmetal bronze by the Dresden sculptor also contains pewter and traces of work, worked in with bare hands.

Resembling enlarged crown corks, the elements made of thin sheet metal fit together and become a work of art in a playful and ironic exaggeration. The arrangement is reminiscent of Mickey Mouse, and a little bit of naive tinkering with a cult factor.

The Universe in a Pearl - Great art in a small church!
The sculpture, created by Rebecca Horn in 2006, is now moving into the converted St. Georg Hospital Church in Lößnitz. It combines a deep shaft and a vortex of light, leads the eye from the earth's interior to the firmament and fascinates with its endless depth and ascending light.
