Vacation program: Guided tour for children through the exhibition mine
On the guided tour through the demonstration mine, we experience the world of miners up close. Between tunnels and machines, we show tools, explain mining and conveying technology and tell exciting stories about the hard work underground - loud and impressive.

During the summer vacations, grandparents can take their grandchildren into the exciting world underground. During this special activity, they will experience together what it looks like under the Sauberg and what miners have created there over the centuries.

Vacation program: Project week - the coal courier
How is a newspaper made? During the vacation program, children explore this question themselves: they research, photograph and write. Step by step, they use their impressions of the exhibition to create their own museum newspaper full of stories, pictures and ideas.
Vacation program: Mining lamp tour
We set off into the dark with helmets and head torches. Together we discover what our light cones make visible. Sounds become clearer, smells more intense - an adventure for all the senses. The tour is suitable for children aged 5 and over.
Vacation program: Off to the first shift
The tour shows the everyday life of miners, from the start of the shift to the end of the day. Working conditions then and now are highlighted. The tour leads through the exhibition and the demonstration mine and ends underground with a drink and a game of cards.
Vacation program: Out and about in the trails
How does a miner build a roadway? How is coal transported? Underground, children discover types of development and transportation routes. With team spirit, a functioning route is created in the "Dwarf Shaft" from wooden tracks, hunts and components for children to try out.
