The paper mill is one of the oldest paper mills in Germany that is still in operation today. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Ore Mountains/Krušnohorí mining region, it is an insider tip in the region as an authentic site of paper and cardboard production.

1997 wurde der Grundstock für die Sammlung gelegt. Die Idee für ein „Ziegelei- & Dorfmuseum“ entstand. Bürger gaben historische Gegenstände ab, die Ausstellung wuchs. Heute betreibt ein Förderverein das Museum mit Ringofen, landwirtschaftlichen Geräten u.v.m.
