Joseph Fiala's viola da gamba, built by Joann Paul Schorn in Salzburg in 1709, is now in the possession of viol virtuoso Thomas Fritzsch. When he found the instrument, he immediately went in search of viola da gamba music by his friends Mozart and Fiala, and not in vain.

Opening concert of the Augustusburg Summer of Music
The Junge Philharmonie Augustusburg will perform Dvořák's nature-loving 8th Symphony and works by Charpentier under Pascal Kaufmann. The "English" Symphony was composed in 1890 in western Bohemia and delighted concert audiences throughout Europe with its joie de vivre.
