This chamber music evening presents French works by Taffanel, Chaminade, Dutilleux and Poulenc. Virtuoso pieces for wind instruments, piano and flute span a colorful arc from the Romantic period to modern times and celebrate the French musical tradition.
Symphony Concert No. 8: Meditations
Alexander Scriabin's "Daydreams" enchants with late romantic and impressionistic sounds. Richard Strauss found new courage after the war with his oboe concerto. Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony reflects fate and hope.
Viennese composers: Schubert, Zemlinsky, Mahler
As part of the 35th Saxon Mozart Festival 2026 "From Face to Face", the young mezzo-soprano Marlen Bieber will make her debut at the Villa Esche together with pianist Daniel Heide and whisk the audience away to the fascinating musical metropolis of Vienna.
6th Chamber Music Evening II
The chamber music evening presents Heidrun Sandmann-Poscharsky, Thomas Bruder and Julian Riem, who will perform a fascinating program from different eras of music history with Beethoven's "Ghost Trio", Chopin's Piano Trio and Ravel's work from 1914.
9th symphony concert: Heavenly sounds
Dvořák, once not a cello fan, created a masterpiece with his Cello Concerto, inspired by Niagara Falls and the loss of his childhood sweetheart. Schubert's posthumously premiered Eighth Symphony was celebrated as a "novel in four volumes".
