This workshop teaches the basics of shadow knitting. Using knit and purl stitches along with two contrasting yarns, you’ll create fascinating patterns that appear three-dimensional depending on the angle from which you view them.

The Esche Lab offers a basic course in machine knitting. Historical Veritas knitting machines are used to show how individual and sustainable fashion is created. Textile designer Virginia Reil introduces the technique and brings the art of knitting back to life.
