The new permanent exhibition CoalWorld
This is a journey through the 1000-year history of the Saxon coal mining industry. You will learn how and where the coal was produced and how the "black diamonds" were used. You get to know new personalities and the demonstration mine.

Historische Ausstellung
1997 wurde der Grundstock für die Sammlung gelegt. Die Idee für ein „Ziegelei- & Dorfmuseum“ entstand. Bürger gaben historische Gegenstände ab, die Ausstellung wuchs. Heute betreibt ein Förderverein das Museum mit Ringofen, landwirtschaftlichen Geräten u.v.m.
Vacation program: Around the Hunt
In the museum you can discover what hunts were used for in the mine. Afterwards you will make your own Hunt out of salt dough to take home. Please bring a small cardboard box (approx. 13 x 7 cm). As we will be working with natural materials, "robber clothes" are recommended

Special guided tour for Women's Day
The history of women in mining also began with the beginnings of coal mining in Saxony. Their role was often hidden. To mark Women's Day, the exhibition in the demonstration mine shows their tasks, challenges and formative stories.

Tour with the Wendler coal knife
The coal cutter takes guests on a tour of discovery through the museum. He also explains what a coal cutter actually was & what he had to do. Because the profession of coal cutter actually existed. Why and for what: participants find out on this tour.
