The Central Saxon Philharmonic Orchestra with its General Music Director José Luis Gutiérrez always keeps to the beat. Of course, the New Year's Concert will feature the classics by Johann Strauss, but also works by Bedřich Smetana and Darius Milhaud.
2nd chamber music evening
The chamber music evening combines Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Cello, Tailleferre's Sonata No. 1 and Lachner's brilliant Nonet in F major, which reflects Munich's musical heritage of the 19th century.
5th symphony concert: Northern Lights
The concert will take you to the musical landscapes of the North, with Alfvén's Rhapsody, Tveitt's Concerto for Hardanger Fiddle and Mendelssohn's Third Symphony, conducted by Leslie Suganandarajah, who is known for his sparkling energy.
