Joseph Fiala's viola da gamba, built by Joann Paul Schorn in Salzburg in 1709, is now in the possession of viol virtuoso Thomas Fritzsch. When he found the instrument, he immediately went in search of viola da gamba music by his friends Mozart and Fiala, and not in vain.

Opening concert of the Augustusburg Summer of Music

Jan Dismas Zelenka, born in Bohemia in 1679 and active in Dresden from 1710 to 1745, was a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach. The Prague ensemble Musica Affecta owes them both gems of chamber music, as well as works by Mozart.
