Syrau Dragon Cave - Excursion into the realm of Justus the dragon
A trip to Saxony's only show cave is well worthwhile. In this mysterious, hidden world, you can see a variety of different stalactites, crystal-clear lakes, soft clay formations and bizarre sinter curtains.
Cave park
There is a 2-hectare cave park above the Dragon's Cave. The former quarry has been transformed into a beautiful park with an open-air stage and powder hut (both for hire), exploration areas and an adventure garden with interesting facts about the earth, rocks and the cave.

Railroad tours in the Rochlitz region
The 9.4 km long railroad line winds its way from the Mulde valley in Rochlitz through a beautiful natural landscape, along the Frelsbach stream through the Köttwitzsch valley to Narsdorf. Individual special trips can be organized by arrangement.
Mining nature trail
The mining nature trail presents a miniature landscape at the Fundgrube Gesellschaft with over 50 models showing original hat houses and mining equipment and offering a fascinating insight into the history of mining.

Shaft goat
The sculpture in Oelsnitz in the Ore Mountains picks up on the humor of the miners. Newcomers to the mines are said to have been told about the mountain goat, for which they had to bring food. And some of them are said to have actually believed it.

The Reiner Kunze stele
The sculpture commemorates the writer Reiner Kunze, who was born in Oelsnitz in 1933. In addition to being named an honorary citizen of the town and the Oelsnitz Literature Prize being named after him, the sculpture is further recognition of the town's son.

Rabenstein Castle

The miner's cow
Erik Neukirchner's artwork refers to a humorous mining tradition that is still the subject of many legends today. In the Ore Mountains, the now almost extinct "Ore Mountain goat" was widespread and was often called the "miner's cow".

The space-time diagram
The sculpture addresses the subsidence caused by coal mining in the region. Erected at the site of the most extreme subsidence, the 17.40 m high, spiral-shaped subsidence curve in Waldesruh shows the period in which the ground changed rapidly.

Mining around Marienberg began in 1519 and led to the founding of the town. After a long decline, it experienced a renaissance in the 18th century under mining master Heinrich von Trebra. A hike today reveals many traces of this history.
