A dream for medieval fans
Gnandstein Castle is probably one of the best-preserved Romanesque fortifications in Saxony. The fortress high above the Wyhra is a dream come true for medieval enthusiasts. The history of the castle goes back over 800 years. It was inhabited for around 700 years.

How did people make clothes in the Middle Ages, what did they cook and what weapons were used in battle? Members of the "Mark Meissen 1200" association bring regional history to life at Gnandstein Castle, as craftsmen, lesser nobility, unfree peasants, maidservants or nuns.
