In the rustic castle kitchen at Rochlitz Castle, the children learn how families managed to have food in the house all year round without a fridge, tins or a supermarket. At the end, they will make their own herbal salt to take home.
Children in velvet and silk - 400 years of children's fashion from the August Ohm Collection
The exhibition shows 400 years of children's fashion: clothing from the August Ohm collection meets paintings by the von Schönburg family. Idealized portraits of children and historical pieces reflect the changing nature of childhood and the wishes of future generations.

Horst Oschmann's delicate paper models of Saxon castles and palaces on a scale of 1:220 tell of great passion on a small scale. The exhibition is complemented by atmospheric oil paintings of regional buildings by Uwe Gerschler.

Night of the castles: 1000 years in front of the lens - a photo safari for photo enthusiasts
At this year's Night of the Castles, Rochlitz Castle opens its doors for a photo safari, where impressive places and historical objects can be captured while a cup of delicious wine is served to set the mood.

OPEN-AIR CONCERT with Bernd Birbils for the Night of the Castles
Surrounded by the romantic backdrop of Rochsburg Castle, visitors can experience German rocker Bernd Birbils with his smoky, warm voice and straightforward, honest lyrics. The museum is open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and there are also guided tours of the keep.
You can't close the door! A proverbial adventure tour
The stately chambers at Rochlitz Castle offer insights into the origins of idioms, the black kitchen humorously demonstrates medieval table manners, and in the prison towers it becomes clear how exaggerated it is to feel "like you've been wheeled".
Theater tour: The scandalous duchess
It sounds scandalous. A duchess wakes up lightly clothed and with no memory of the previous night. What has happened? What will the consequences be? While searching for the clothes, the guests follow the noblewoman through the castle in an exciting spectacle.
Cooking like in the Middle Ages
Under the expert guidance of the court cooks, you can immerse yourself in the past for a few hours and try your hand at preparing medieval dishes according to historical recipes and then try them out for yourself.
