Rochsburg Castle, majestically situated on a rocky spur in the nature reserve, offers a fascinating costume exhibition, a varied program of events and the delicious chocolate creations of the "Choco Del Sol" manufactory.
Cabinet exhibition: Saxon castles and palaces in Z-gauge
Horst Oschmann's delicate paper models of Saxon castles and palaces on a scale of 1:220 tell of great passion on a small scale. The exhibition is complemented by atmospheric oil paintings of regional buildings by Uwe Gerschler.
Special exhibition: European Design Award 2025 for wood sculptors
Under the motto "Lichtblicke", the European Design Award exhibition presents 48 sculptures that celebrate the diversity and depth of wood sculpture and offer a fascinating insight into the combination of tradition and contemporary art.
Art market of the Schlossverein Rochsburg e. V.
In the courtyard of Rochsburg Castle, artists from the region present their unique creations for you to look at, marvel at and store: Painting and photography, ceramics and jewelry, felt work and wood design. There is also a colorful variety of culinary delights.
Behind the scenes
On this tour, visitors can experience those mysterious areas of Rochsburg Castle that are not included in the public museum tour, e.g. rooms of the former youth hostel, various attics and otherwise closed, as yet unrestored areas.
Of knights, princesses and castle ghosts - a family-friendly guided tour
During a 90-minute exploration tour through 1000 years of castle history, visitors listen to funny, interesting and exciting facts about the castle and its inhabitants. For example, about the princes who painted graffiti that can still be admired today.
Wild plants walk
The blossoming splendor of early summer pampers the senses and soul. On a walk through the meadows and paths around Rochsburg Castle, we discover colors, scents and plant knowledge - such as the origin of bedstraw or the use of lime flour.
Cooking like in the Middle Ages
Under the expert guidance of the court cooks, you can immerse yourself in the past for a few hours and try your hand at preparing medieval dishes according to historical recipes and then try them out for yourself.

Castle walls shrouded in mystery provide the perfect ambience to bring the fascinating world of legends to life, while jugglers, magicians and puppeteers invite visitors to marvel and join in with their performances over two days.
