Edvard Munch as a guest at Villa Esche
In October 1905, Edvard Munch visited Villa Esche, where he created portraits of the Esche family and the painting "View of the Chemnitz Valley"; the historic rooms and the fascinating history of the place can be explored during a special guided tour in the Albertinum.
Culinary delights before or after enjoying art
Villa Esche is both a cultural asset and a gourmet manufactory. In front is the building built by the Belgian architect and designer Henry van de Velde in 1902/03 for the manufacturer Esche, now a museum, and next to it in the coach house there are culinary delights and good wines.
