Syrau Dragon Cave - Excursion into the realm of Justus the dragon
A trip to Saxony's only show cave is well worthwhile. In this mysterious, hidden world, you can see a variety of different stalactites, crystal-clear lakes, soft clay formations and bizarre sinter curtains.
Cave park
There is a 2-hectare cave park above the Dragon's Cave. The former quarry has been transformed into a beautiful park with an open-air stage and powder hut (both for hire), exploration areas and an adventure garden with interesting facts about the earth, rocks and the cave.
Terra Varis
Terra means earth, Varis stands for the "Variscan Mountains", which unfolded 500 km wide around 400-220 million years ago and stretched from the Sudeten Mountains across southern Belgium and France to Wales - there are exciting things to experience about the origins of our low mountain ranges.
Dragon's lair takes you to the underworld
During an approx. 50-minute guided tour, visitors learn interesting facts about the Syrau Dragon Cave & its mysterious world with a variety of different stalactites, crystal-clear lakes, soft clay formations and bizarre sinter curtains.
Sash turning
The spectacle of the wings turning on this true masterpiece of architecture is an interesting sight. You can watch the hustle and bustle from the outside and the inside while enjoying a bacon fat sandwich and a cup of coffee. The mill enthusiasts are on hand to answer questions.
Syrau windmill
The windmill has been open to visitors as a technical museum since 1982. It is the only remaining windmill in the Vogtland region. The 9 meter high structure was built in 1864. The mighty blades also measure 9 meters. It was actively operated until 1929.
